BBQ-Party stößt auf große Resonanz

Der Stuttgarter Eishockey Traditionsverein e.V. lud seine Mitglieder und Freunde zu einer Veranstaltung der besonderen Art ein, und knapp 120 Gäste folgten dem Ruf.
Der Vorstand wollte mit dieser Aktion ein Zeichen setzen und sich bei seinen Mitgliedern für die großartige Unterstützung bedanken und nach vielen Sitzungen mit Diskussionen war ein Rahmenplan erarbeitet, der letztlich durch das „Old-Boyz-Party“-Team mit Leben erfüllt wurde.

Mit Superlativen sollte man eigentlich immer sparsam umgehen, aber was der Old-Boyz Party Manager Jambo Schäffler und seine Helfer hier auf die Beine gestellt haben dürfte schlichtweg einmalig sein, ja geradezu sensationell.
So etwas gab es unseres Wissens nach im Stuttgarter Eishockey in diesem Ausmaß und dieser Größe noch nicht !

Ob jetzt eine Hüpfburg für die Kids oder ein extra eingerichtetes Zimmer mit Spielsachen und einer Playstation für die etwas Älteren: an alles wurde gedacht, und natürlich entsprechend gerne genutzt, so dass auch die Mammas und Papas ein wenig entspannter das Flair einer Eishockey BBQ-Party geniesen konnten.

Selbstverständlich gab es auch eine Bar.
In einem mit viel Mühe und Blick für Details dekorierten Ambiente hingen Trikots aus verschiedenen Epochen des Stuttgarter Hockeys vom EHC Stuttgart bishin zu den Stuttgart Rebels.
Unnötig zu erwähnen das auch wieder alte Geschichten aufkamen, Geschichten die man sich immer wieder gerne erzählt, als wenn Sie erst gestern passiert wären. Bereits beim Aufbau der Bar und Aufhängen der Jerseys gab es hierzu einiges zu erzählen, was zwar zu Verzögerungen führte, die man aber gerne in Kauf nahm.
Das ganze Geschehen hatte etwas von einer Feier in einer Mannschaftskabine, nur der herzhafte Duft von durchschwitzten Trikots und Schlittschuhen fehlte noch und die Illusion wäre perfekt gewesen…
Gegen später gab es hier noch Livemusik vom Gitarristen und Sänger Angelo Christidis von der Band „Cherry Red“ mit unplugged songs, was dem Ganzen noch die Krone aufgesetzt hat.

Unter den Gästen befanden sich auch viele amerikanische Freunde, die der Einladung ebenfalls gefolgt sind und teilweise auch in Hockeytrikots erschienen, was auch hier -wie kann es auch anders sein- zu vielen interessanten Gesprächen führte.

Viele US-Amerikaner, die hier über einen gewissen Zeitraum stationiert sind und in den Staaten höherklassig Eishockey gespielt haben, wussten z.B. nicht das auf der Waldau Eishockey gespielt wird. Aber seit Samstag dürfte diese Lücke geschlossen sein.

Zur besten Partyzeit um ca. 21 Uhr gab es dann den einzigen Programmpunkt des Abends mit einer Rede des 1. Vorstand Jens „Jay“ Mack, der nochmal kurz den Werdegang des Vereins schilderte und was alles bis heute erreicht wurde.
Vorallem die großen Sympathien, die dem Club von vielen Seiten entgegen gebracht werden sind eine Bestätigung und natürlich eine große Motivation für den Vorstand, die Dinge weiter voranzubringen.
Die „Waldau-Old-Boyz“ oder mittlerweile nur noch die „Old-Boyz“ sind zu einer regionalen Marke geworden, die eine große positive Strahlkraft entwickelt hat, was man unter anderem an den steigenden Zugriffen auf unsere Homepage erkennt, aber z.B. auch im Sponsorenbereich sind positive Signale zu vermelden- und dass, ohne das wir hier von uns aus aktiv werden !

Im Anschluß wurde das Ganze dann für unsere amerikanischen Freunde übersetzt, was sehr gut ankam und mit kräftigem Beifall quittiert wurde.
Danach kam es zu einer kleinen Überraschungsfeier für die Tochter eines US-Soldaten, die just an diesem Tag 6 Jahre alt geworden ist und die es aus dem Stand fertig brachte die amerikanische Hymne gesanglich vorzutragen. Respekt !

Damit war der offizielle Teil beendet und der Vollblutmusiker Angelo Christidis an der Reihe. Nur mit seiner Stimme und einer Gitarre bewaffnet erzeugte er eine geniale Stimmung und Atmosphäre die einen mitgezogen hat.

Später wurde dann, über einen eigens dafür installierten Beamer, die DVD mit dem Jahrhundertspiel des EHC Stuttgart gegen ZSKA Moskau im Hintergrund ausgestrahlt, während die Party ins letzte Spieldrittel ging.

Fazit:
Es war ein super Abend mit einer BBQ-Party der Extra-Klasse.
Vielen Dank an Jambo, der bis morgens um 5 Uhr an der Deko arbeitete, um am selben Tag in Topform einen Party-Manager abzugeben, der seinesgleichen sucht.
Ein herzliches Dankeschön auch an die Betreiber des Dog-House Christos Papadopulus und Georg Parcharidis, und natürlich an unseren Sponsor und Kumpel Murat „Big Mou“ Aktelligül für den Imbiss-Stand und die Hüpfburg.
Gerne hätten wir (Hermann, Jambo und ich) die Hüpfburg nach dem Aufbau ausprobiert, aber dann hätten die Kinder keine Freude mehr daran gehabt 😉
Die Party-Meßlatte wurde hiermit auf ein sensationelles Niveau gelegt.

BARBECUE PARTY WIDELY RECEIVED

Stuttgarter Eishockey Traditionsverein e.V. invited its members and friends to a very special event that around 120 guests ultimately attended.
The club’s board was intending to set an example with this event and thank its members for their outstanding support. After many meetings and plenty of discussion, the board developed an agenda that was ultimately staged to perfection by the Old Boyz Party Team.

Everyone knows not to overuse superlatives, but looking back at what Old Boyz Party Manager Jambo Schäffler and his team had organized, we can undoubtedly say it was a unique and downright sensational event.
As far as we are aware, there has never been anything on this scale before in Stuttgart’s ice hockey scene!
Be it a bouncy castle for kids or a dedicated room with toys and a Playstation for older offspring: all eventualities had been considered and the offer was widely received so that parents were also able to enjoy some of the relaxed atmosphere at an ice hockey barbecue party.
Naturally, the event setup also involved a bar.
The facilities had been lovingly decorated with an attention to detail and featured shirts from various era’s of Stuttgart’s ice hockey history, from EHC Stuttgart to Stuttgart Rebels.
There is no need to mention that this was more than a mere invitation to retell those old stories we all like to hear as if they had taken place only yesterday. There was already plenty of talk while the bar was being set up and shirts were placed which inevitably caused delays. But that was OK.
The entire event felt like a party in the team changing rooms and if there had been a pungent smell of sweaty shirts and skates, we would have fallen victim to the perfect illusion.
Towards the later parts of the evening Cherry Red’s guitarist and singer Angelo Christidis play some unplugged tunes to round off a great event.

Guests at the event also included many American friends, some of which attended in hockey shirts which, inevitably, led to many interesting conversations.
Many US Americans posted here for a certain period of time who had been playing ice hockey in higher leagues in the States were unaware of the fact Waldau ice rink was home to an ice hockey club. However, Saturday’s event seems to have sorted that one out.
At the height of the party at around 9 pm the address by club President Jens „Jay“ Mack marked the only item on the evening’s agenda, as part of which he once again briefly summed up the club’s history and what had been achieved to date.
Most of all the vast amounts of sympathy for the club by very different people feel like a confirmation and – of course – a great motivation for the board to drive our club forward.
„Waldau Old Boyz“ or now known simply as the „Old Boyz“ have evolved to a regional brand with an outstandingly positive image, evident from elements including our increased website traffic, as well as positive sponsoring developments – and all without us having to take action!
The address was subsequently interpreted for our American friends, triggering an enthusiastic applause.
Afterwards we took the time for a small surprise party to honor the daughter of one US soldier who was celebrating her sixth birthday on this very day. We would like to take this opportunity and thank her for her impromptu rendition of the US national anthem. Respect!
That concluded the official part of the event and passionate musician Angelo Christidis took to the stage. Armed only with his voice and a guitar he created a great atmosphere that swept everyone off their seats.
A great choice of musical entertainment!
Later a specially installed projector was used to show the game of the century between EHC Stuttgart and ZSKA Moscow in the background while the party went into its last period.

Summary:
it was a great evening with an extra special barbecue party.
Thank you to Jambo who worked on the decorations until 5 am to perfectly slip into the role of the world’s greatest party manager on the same day. What a performance!
